Project Pink

October 24, 2014

Ms. Sherry Bossle says that “Breast Cancer Awareness Week started off small and has over the years morphed into what it is now. It grew from educating the class to educating the school.” The Women and Health class plans everything that goes into this week. The main reason Ms. Bossle started this was to raise awareness for breast cancer. The students decorated fences and raffled off Chic-Fil-A gift cards; Penny Queens dressed in pink boas and collected their class’ donations for the Hoffberger Breast Center at Mercy Medical; still others created a Prayer Wall for those who either won or lost the battle with their disease.  The Women and Health class will be sending the $1000.00 donation and an online link to a collage of pictures taken from Breast Cancer Awareness Week to the Hoffberger Center. Ms. Bossle and her Women and Health class’ hope for the future is to get more people educated and stress the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Ms. Bossle says that “word is getting around.”
