When Catherine McAuley was dying she told one of her sisters to make sure they all had a comfortable cup of tea when she was gone. Because of this a cup of tea has become a symbol of hospitality in the Mercy community. At Mercy High School Tea Talks are held once a month and give students a chance to discuss various topics over a cup of iced tea, the most recent being “Love Your Selfie.” Junior Julia Gusmano decribes Tea Talks as “comfortable, open-ended, and creative.” Stay tuned to the morning announcements to find out the date and theme of the next Tea Talk.
